Beat the Quease with Vitamin B6 (Pyroxidine)
At Flow Wellness, we’re here to help you lose weight—and feel good doing it. GLP-1 medications are incredibly effective at reducing appetite, controlling blood sugar, and supporting long-term weight loss. But if you’ve experienced nausea after your shot, you’re not alone.
For many people, that queasy feeling can make it harder to stay consistent. That’s where Vitamin B6 comes in.
What Is Vitamin B6 (pyridoxine)?
Vitamin B6 (also called pyridoxine) is a water-soluble vitamin that helps with mood, metabolism, and nervous system function. But one of its most helpful roles? It reduces nausea. That’s why it’s been used safely for decades in motion sickness remedies, pregnancy nausea products, and now—GLP-1 support.
How B6 Helps with GLP-One Side Effects
GLP-1s work in-part by slowing digestion and making you feel fuller, longer. That’s great for weight loss—but for some people, especially in the first few weeks or after a dose increase, it can cause:
-
Nausea
-
Loss of appetite
-
Food aversions
-
Mild stomach discomfort
B6 can help ease those symptoms, making your medication more tolerable—and helping you stay on track.
Most patients don’t feel a dramatic difference, but many report feeling less queasy in the first few days after their shot and report an easier time eating balanced meals with protein, which– of course– you need to being doing while on the GLP-1 shots. Patients have said the difference is mild but can be enough to make it easier to stay more consistent with weight loss therapy.
How We Use B6 at Flow Wellness
Vitamin B6 is available in our Vita-shot and all our Signature IV infusions at our Bend, Oregon clinic. If you live in Oregon and are on GLP-1 therapy, your provider can order your medicine from Mountain Care Pharmacy with B6 already included.
This means you’re getting that added nausea support built right into your injection—no extra work, pills, or steps. For many, a formulation with B6 could make a big difference. It’s gentle, well-tolerated, and safe to use long-term in small doses—especially the kind included in our compounded medications.
If nausea is more intense or persistent, your Flow provider can also prescribe ondansetron (Zofran)—a safe and effective medication commonly used to treat nausea. This added prescription is free to all current patients and is especially helpful during the first few weeks of GLP-1 therapy or after dose increases. Just message us through the portal if you’re struggling, and we’ll work with you to keep your plan both effective and tolerable.
The Bottom Line
Weight loss is hard enough—you shouldn’t have to fight through constant nausea to reach your goals. At Flow Wellness, we look for thoughtful ways to make your plan more sustainable, comfortable, and effective. B6 is one of those simple but powerful tools.
