At Flow Wellness, we want your ketamine treatment to be as comfortable, safe, and effective as possible. Here’s a step-by-step look at what you can expect during your visit.
Before Your Infusion
When you arrive at the clinic, we’ll check you in and recommend using the restroom before we begin. You’ll settle into one of our comfortable chairs, designed to help you relax throughout your session. More information about preparing for your infusion day.
Getting Set Up
One of our experienced providers will start an IV—a small, flexible tube placed in your arm. Your ketamine infusion will flow from a saline bag through an IV pump into this line. We combine the ketamine with magnesium, which can help enhance its effectiveness.
For safety, we’ll monitor your vital signs throughout your session:
-
A blood pressure cuff will track your blood pressure.
-
A small clip on your finger will monitor oxygen levels.
-
Small chest leads will track your heart rate.
Creating a Calming Environment
Once you’re set up, we’ll offer you an eye mask and headphones with relaxing background music. You’re also welcome to bring your own music or comfort items. This sensory break helps you fully immerse in the experience. Please see our music recommendations for more information.
During the Infusion
As the treatment begins, you’ll slowly drift into a deeply relaxed state. When the infusion ends, you’re welcome to remain in your relaxed state for as long as you feel comfortable. Plan to spend about 2 hours in the clinic.
After Your Treatment
As you come back to your surroundings, you’ll likely feel calm and peaceful. You may also experience some grogginess, disorientation, or balance changes—so move slowly and take your time.
